I have consistently maintained a profound passion and admiration for anything creative or out of the box. This is exceptionally true when it comes to the art of the written word. Despite not holding an official English degree, I have cultivated my drive for persistent improvement by concluding that many art forms cannot be fully discovered in the classroom. Often, life experience combined with natural ability form the foundation of magnificence. Words are a puzzle; gather them and mold together something spectacular.
My working career officially began at the local electric company, Jersey Central Power & Light, where I learned the importance of collaborating with a team and the significance of inspiring myself to get the job accomplished independently. I spent years there discovering how to interact with people from all walks of life, how to carry myself as a professional, and how vital it was to establish a strong work ethic. I learned to go the extra mile.
In 2015, Southern California became my home away from home, and I gained a wealth of insight about myself and life outside my comfort zone. The old motto is genuine - growth is indeed nourished outside the realm of comfort. I landed a position managing a group home for adolescents recovering from chemical dependency. I learned leadership, compassion, and patience. I discovered discipline and experienced hope through their will to rise above a challenge. It was one of the most enlightening and impactful experiences I have had to date.
I returned to New Jersey in 2018, where I began working for Princeton University as a Site Protection Technician. Every day, I had the pleasure of being surrounded by a gorgeous environment that hosted a richness of innovation and knowledge. Leaders in industry and thinkers responsible for advancing us as a civilization walked those very same halls, and I felt grateful for my ever-so-small connection to our history.
Through it all, there have been words translating life and its experiences. I have become awakened to the fact that writing is what I love. It's my calling. It's what I crave to do. Words; uniquely linked in a way to tell my story; to tell your story; to tell our story.
